SAAB J21A scale Plan Set
This is a full size printed set of Plans and other Documentation
David's latest, is a 1/4 Scale design of the SAAB J21 that was a self-defense fighter from World War II. This is a unique twin-boom pusher design that the Swedes built to maintain their neutrality during World War II. Because it's a pusher design, the airframe works well as an electric-powered model. It would be very difficult to cool a combustion engine and still keep the scale look of this design. Big thanks to Roy Maynard who visited the air museum in Sweden and provided images of all the scale details for David’s design.

Saab J21A Construction Manual
The Saab J21 was a major factor why Germany did not attack Sweden during WW2. The J21 was designed to operate from farm fields and dirt roads. The Swedish air force hid them in the forests and moved them frequently so that the Germans did not know where they were. This quarter-scale model is complicated. It should be attempted only by experienced scale modelers. However, all scale modelers are encouraged to read these construction notes because they are a tutorial on advanced scale model construction techniques.
There is a category of music called “musician’s music.”
Its music is so advanced, complex and subtle that only experienced musicians can appreciate it. Likewise, there is a class of scale models that is so complex and unconventional that only experienced scale modelers appreciate them. The Saab J21 belongs in that category. Its complexity requires detailed assembly instructions even for the experienced modeler. Hence this lengthy construction manual.
